It’s been six years since we launched the first Tablo Over-the-Air DVR. Over that time, finding cable TV alternatives has gone mainstream and all Tablo DVRs, including those early units, have become even better thanks to innovative new features and ongoing firmware and app updates. The one thing that hasn’t changed is our mission to provide consumer-friendly technology designed specifically for consumers looking for cable alternatives. With this mission in mind, we are excited to announce two new Storage-Included Tablo Over-the-Air (OTA) DVRs that are joining our product lineup.
With onboard recording storage, the Tablo DUAL 128GB and Tablo QUAD 1TB DVRs make it even easier to browse, record and stream your favorite Over-the-Air TV shows right out of the box!
Meet the Storage-Included Tablo OTA DVRs – DUAL LITE 128GB OTA DVR and Tablo QUAD 1TB OTA DVR:
Based on our popular DUAL LITE and QUAD OTA DVR models, the Tablo DUAL 128GB and Tablo QUAD 1TB offer onboard storage so you can easily start recording your favorite OTA broadcast shows as soon as your Tablo is connected to your TV antenna and your home network.
NOTE – You can now complete first-time setup of your new Tablo via our Roku app. Head over to the Tablo Knowledge base for details!
The new Tablo DUAL 128GB DVR has two Over-the-Air TV tuners and space to record up to 80 hours of HD programming thanks to 128GB of built-in recording storage.
The new Tablo QUAD 1TB DVR has four Over-the-Air TV tuners and space to record up to 700 hours of HD programming on its factory-installed, pre-formatted and tested 1TB SATA drive.
If these OTA DVR models with affordable onboard storage meet your recording needs, you don’t have to worry about or purchase a separate off-the-shelf hard drive.
In all other respects, the Tablo DUAL 128GB and the Tablo QUAD 1TB DVRs offer the same network connectivity, support for concurrent live and recording streams, flexibility and features – including Automatic Commercial Skip and 5.1 Surround Sound passthrough – as our bring-your-own storage models.

Need More DVR Storage? That’s OK!
If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that you can’t plan for everything. If you purchase a Tablo DUAL 128GB or Tablo QUAD 1TB DVR and find that you need additional space for recordings in the future, that’s OK! Both OTA DVRs offer the same flexibility as our other models in that you can add storage, up to 8TB, at any time.
For the Tablo DUAL 128GB DVR, you can connect any compatible portable hard drive via USB. Once formatted, all new recordings will bypass the internal storage and be saved to the new external drive. Recordings still on the internal storage can continue to be played back, managed and deleted.
For the Tablo QUAD 1TB DVR, its internal SATA drive must be removed before adding new compatible storage. Users can choose to replace the internal drive with any other compatible 2.5” 7-9mm height SATA drive, or connect any compatible portable external hard drive via USB.
NOTE – Internal SATA drives with the correct dimensions are currently sold in sizes up to 4TB.
