Today’s question comes from Heather, who asks, “I would like to get rid of YouTube TV before the price goes up in the New Year. Is Tablo a good replacement for this service?”
Starting in mid-January the monthly price for the YouTube TV streaming service will hit a hefty $82.99 a month.
For consumers who initially switched to YouTube TV to save money, the ballooning cost has been tough to swallow.
While Tablo isn’t a full replacement for YouTube TV, it will let you watch and record broadcast network TV from ABC, CBC, NBC, FOX and more plus our selection of free streaming channels.

With no subscriptions or ongoing fees and a one-time cost of $119.95 or less, the 4th Generation 2-Tuner Tablo Total System includes everything most folks will need to get started. It’s a great and super affordable way to watch your local news and sports as well as your favorite sitcoms and dramas, live or later.
Those who don’t mind spending a little cash to keep streaming access to other ‘cable-style’ channels they received through YouTube TV can supplement their Tablo viewing with services like Sling TV for sports and news fans and Philo or Frndly for entertainment fans.
By pairing Tablo with one of these services, you’ll be saving a bundle in no time!
