Why did you cut the cord? How much money are you saving each month?
I cut the cord due to the ever-increasing costs and horrible customer service with cable. I’m saving around $100 a month now!
What do you get with an HDTV antenna that you couldn’t get another way?
All the channels I get from my antenna are in HD. Even when I was paying over $160 per month for cable I had zero premium channels and zero HD. That cost was for basic cable only which is absurd!
Why did you choose Tablo as part of your home entertainment arsenal?
I looked at several DVR systems and compared features. Tablo has them all beat. I’m in my 60s and have moderate technical skills so I wanted something easy to use. There were some bumps in the beginning, which the great folks with Tablo’s customer and technical support resolved, but now my TV watching is as seamless as when I had cable.
What’s been the best thing about using/having Tablo so far?
I don’t feel I lost anything…I gained! Watching everything I record in HD is awesome!
What other services and tools do you use to watch TV/Video content and why?
I currently use a Roku 3 and it’s OK, but I hope to switch to an Amazon Fire TV box when Tablo releases an app for it. I also subscribe to Netflix and Amazon Prime.
What advice do you have for others thinking of cutting the cord?
Do your homework so you know what to expect. This is a different kind of viewing experience and it’s great once you adjust, but if you expect things to be identical to cable, you’ll be disappointed. If you know what you’re getting into, you’ll love it!
