What's new in the TV industry today...
- Cleveland Cavaliers’ games will be available over-the-air thanks to a partnership with Rock Entertainment Sports Network, Gray Media and FanDuel Sports Network. Fans in Northeast Ohio, Columbus and Cincinnati are in for a Cavaliers treat. See here for more details and game times.
- “FBI: CIA”, a spinoff of “FBI”, is in the works at CBS. It’ll feature a straight-laced FBI agent and street-smart CIA agent teaming up to prevent domestic terrorism in New York City. The main characters for this series will be introduced in upcoming episodes of “FBI”, so keep an eye out.
- The Allen Media Group has backtracked on a decision to layoff local weather teams in 28 network stations across the US. This appears to be thanks to significant pushback from local and national advertisers who were concerned that removing local talent would translate into lost advertising revenue.
- Netflix plans to raise the price of its streaming services, yes even the ad-supported tier, increasing prices by $1 to $2.50 per month. This, in spite of the fact it crossed the 300 million subscriber mark in the fourth quarter of 2024. That being said, Tablo customers need never fear such with OTA TV or our free streaming channels.
- “High Potential” has been renewed for a second season on ABC. Which isn’t surprising since it’s been a breakout hit, ranking among the top first-year series in 2024-25.
