- Beloved Simpsons character Apu has returned. He is voiced by Sunil Malhotra (Grey’s Anatomy), who was hesitant at first but was brought around by the producers’ plans for the Kwik-E-Mart owner and family man.
- The Rookie returns for a 9th season followed by the premiere of the new spin-off The Rookie: North, on ABC Wednesday, January 6th at 9 PM ET.
- Civics Made Easy, hosted by author Ben Sheehan (A Non-Boring Guide to How Our Democracy is Supposed to Work), explores burning questions you may have about the government. Catch season 2 on PBS on Wednesdays. Check your Tablo’s live TV guide for local airtimes.
- Two familiar faces are returning to TV:
- Kelsey Grammer (Cheers, Frasier) is headlining and producing a new drama called Pops for NBC, based on the real-life story of Ed Levin, a retiree who became a volunteer EMT in his 60s.
- Scott Bakula (Star Trek: Enterprise, NCIS: New Orleans), will star in an unnamed detective drama set in Los Angeles. It will be produced and written by Michaeel Sussman (Star Trek: Enterprise). It will air on CBS.
- Kelsey Grammer (Cheers, Frasier) is headlining and producing a new drama called Pops for NBC, based on the real-life story of Ed Levin, a retiree who became a volunteer EMT in his 60s.
- Gadget fans are excited about two new streaming devices on the way:
- Apple recently introduced its 4th Gen Apple TV 4K. It’ll cost $299 but comes with significant upgrades: An A19 processor that’s 50% faster, 8GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and a remote that beeps to help you find it.
- Out-of-stock notices hint that a new Google Streamer 4K device is on the horizon. This new model will reportedly have a faster processor, more internal storage and a slanted upper surface making it easier to use voice commands.
