Today’s question is from Scott who asks, “Does the 4th generation Tablo have a subscription? I’ve seen some people mention they have to pay for the TV guide.”
4th generation Tablo devices have absolutely no subscriptions, fees, or ongoing costs.
Once you pay for the DVR itself, you’ll have full access to all Tablo features. This includes free TV guide data for both the channels you can receive with your TV antenna and the 60+ free streaming TV channels included with Tablo.
The information you or others may have seen was likely related to our older legacy Tablo devices, which operate on a subscription-based model for TV guide data and other advanced features.
Again, this has nothing to do with current 4th-generation Tablo models. With these new Tablo DVRs, you buy the device once and enjoy free TV forever.
