This week's question is from Wesley who asks, "What is the procedure to do maintenance on the hard drive connected to my Tablo?"

When connected to a DVR like Tablo, USB hard drives work really hard saving new video and audio information. That's why choosing a good quality, compatible, hard drive in the first place is important. 

Periodic maintenance on frequently used drives is often recommended which is why tech-savvy folks like Wesley might wonder how to keep their Tablo's drive in tip-top shape. Thankfully, your Tablo will do this automatically as part of its overnight maintenance routine. No action is required on your part. 

However, if you frequently experience failed recordings or suspect other drive-related issues, the support team can run a higher-level fixup for you to attempt to save your hard drive and your recordings.
