- NBC has ordered pilots of two potential new drama series for next year: a reboot of the classic detective show The Rockford Files written and produced by Mike Daniels (The Village) and Protection, which follows the family of a fallen US Marshall as they become the target of an assassin.
- As the shakeups in its news division continue, CBS Saturday Morning has two new anchors: Adriana Diaz and Kelly O’Grady. The duo will also split hosting duties with a third anchor on the weekday streaming show CBS News 24/7 Mornings.
- NBC comedy Happy’s Place will welcome some familiar faces as upcoming guest stars. Jane Lynch (Glee) will play Gabby’s mother and Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family) will play an unconventional therapist. Meanwhile, Corey Cott’s Detective Griffin has been promoted to series regular on Law and Order: SVU.
- Unfortunately, the new year is bringing new price increases for TV fans. According to the Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), streaming prices have risen an egregious 29% over the last year. Thankfully, the 4th Generation Tablo remains subscription-free.
