Tablo PRO to Enable Service Provider and Multi-Tenant Live TV Streaming Applications

OTTAWA, ON
— December 20, 2016 — Nuvyyo, the maker of the Tablo Over-the-Air (OTA) DVR (www.tablotv.com), today announced it will preview a cloud-based OTA TV streaming platform aimed at service providers and multi-tenant applications at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Leveraging prototype hardware called Tablo PRO, the white-label solution will enable organizations to deploy OTA video solutions in the cloud using real-time HD-to-HD transcoding and streaming of live TV to supported consumer devices.

“Since the launch of our consumer product, the Tablo OTA DVR, we have been approached by organizations seeking a simple and robust cloud-based video solution for OTA TV,” said Grant Hall, CEO at Nuvyyo, the makers of Tablo. “With this white-labelled OTA TV platform enabled by Tablo PRO, broadband ISPs as well as building managers, hospitals and schools can create streaming broadcast video applications that are easily deployed, maintained and scaled.”

ISPs licensed to distribute OTA signals and multi-tenant solution architects can use this platform to deliver live, streaming TV services across their broadband networks or within a LAN-environment without the need to install or service customer-premises hardware. End-users need only download an app to their own mobile or HDMI-connected device and authenticate with the server to begin watching live TV.

Cloud Head-End Architecture
Tablo PRO is a 19” 1U rack-mount solution based on XCode 5115 multimedia processor chips from ViXS Systems which features 12 Tablo ATSC OTA tuners, built-in real-time HD to HD transcoding as well as an advanced real-time OTA streaming server. Tablo PRO connects to the network via six 100BT Ethernet ports and includes active cooling.

Pricing and availability of the white-labelled cloud TV solution will be announced in Q2 2017.

Demonstrations of Nuvyyo’s cloud-based streaming service enabled by the Tablo PRO are available by appointment in the Vixs Systems booth #MP26056 (LVCC, South Hall 2) at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas January 5th – 7th, 2017.
