In hardware news we’ve got a new Tablo DVR option to talk about this week with the anouncement of the Tablo DUAL HDMI.
If you didn’t guess from it’s name, the new selling point here is the inclusion of an HDMI port, meaning this new DVR can hook directly into your TV instead of connecting to your network like previous DVRs in the Tablo line up.
It also comes with a remote control and (Nuvyyo) says the new DUAL HDMI should offer users a more traditional DVR experience. Like other options in the (Tablo) portfolio, the DUAL HDMI lets you record live Over-The-Air or OTA TV via an antenna and it’s compatible with a range of external hard drives so you can customize how many hours of content you’d like to store.
(Nuvyyo) says that this new option is less reliant on stable internet connections, adding that it can function withoutconnecting to the internet for up to two weeks which might make it a good option in areas where reliable connections are not always a given and it might also be handy for travelers like say in an RV.
