Checking connection status…

Welcome to the Tablo Internet Setup Wizard!

Having trouble connecting your Tablo to the internet during first-time setup? This wizard will help guide you through the process and help you troubleshoot any issues you encounter.

TIP: We recommend running the internet setup wizard on a different smartphone, tablet, or computer than the device you’re using to set up your Tablo.

That way you can easily view the instructions in the wizard while you walk through the steps on the Tablo mobile app on a separate screen.

Is there an Ethernet cable connected to your Tablo?

TIP: An Ethernet cable, also called a network cable, connects your Tablo to your router.  It’s included with your Tablo purchase, but optional.

You can set up Tablo with or without an Ethernet cable.  If your home’s Wi-Fi router is in a location that ALSO allows you to place your TV antenna for optimal signal reception, then connecting your Tablo via Ethernet is recommended.

However, if your router is not near the optimal location for your TV antenna, then we recommend connecting your Tablo to your router Wi-Fi.

Do you want to connect using an Ethernet cable?

Remember, you don’t need to connect your Tablo to your router using the Ethernet cable.

If your TV antenna needs to be placed in a different room than your router, you can instead connect your Tablo to the internet via Wi-Fi.

However, connecting your Tablo via Ethernet is recommended as it will provide the best possible experience.

Please make sure your Ethernet cable is connected.

One end of the Ethernet cable should be plugged into the Tablo device and the other end into your router.

Remove the Ethernet cable from your Tablo and reboot the Tablo.

Let’s start the Wi-Fi setup process. Please follow these steps:

1

Place the Tablo in your preferred location – wherever you get the best TV antenna reception

2

Remove the Ethernet cable from the back of your Tablo

3

Unplug the power cord, wait 30 seconds and then plug it back in

4

Wait 2 minutes, then click the CONTINUE button below

Let's double check a few things.

Please review each item below and check the box to confirm.

Once you have confirmed all three, you can click continue.

1. Confirm you are not using a VPN on your device or network.

What is a VPN? If you aren’t familiar with a VPN (Virtual Private Network), then you probably don’t have one running. Using a VPN will prevent your phone or tablet from connecting to the Tablo.

2. Confirm your phone/tablet is on the same  Wi-Fi network you want to connect your Tablo to.

Your phone/tablet and Tablo device need to be on the same network. You may have more than one Wi-Fi network in your home. Please make sure your phone/tablet is connected to the correct network (e.g. 2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz network) and that you are using the correct network password.

3. Confirm there is no external hard drive attached.

If you are planning to add an external hard drive for additional storage, confirm that it is NOT connected now. The setup process will let you know when you can connect the hard drive.

To continue, please confirm the three steps above by checking each box.

Unplug the Ethernet cable from your Tablo and plug it in to another device (laptop, desktop, smart TV, etc).
