Even though you can watch over-the-air channels for free with an antenna, the big networks have made it strangely difficult to stream the same live video to your phones, tablets and set-top boxes. ABC and NBC require a cable subscription for live streaming, and only in select markets, while CBS charges $5.99 per month and blacks out certain content. Fox doesn't offer a live stream at all.
Fortunately, Tablo offers a complete solution for streaming live and recorded over-the-air channels to all your networked devices. You hook the $220 box up to your Wi-Fi router, plug in an external hard drive and antenna, and use Tablo's apps to watch TV on the device of your choosing. (The upcoming Tablo Metro has a built-in antenna for $250.)
