Watch TV Anywhere, Anytime with Tablo Connect

Tablo's out-of-home streaming service - Tablo Connect - lets you access your network-connected Tablo to stream live TV and recordings on your paired devices, anywhere in the world.

The app for Live TV, Tablo lives alongside your other on-demand streaming services like Netflix and live TV streaming apps like Sling TV to deliver your hometown news, sports and live events as they air, or on your schedule, wherever you go.

How Tablo Connect Works

Tablo Connect is a subscription-only feature that is easily enabled in your network-connected Tablo's setting screen, to let you access your live and recorded hometown TV through Tablo over WiFi or cellular data connections anywhere in the world.

Supported devices must be synced with your Tablo on its home network before departure.

Once your device has been paired, you can watch live or recorded TV, set future recordings and even adjust some of your Tablo's settings, just like you would at home.

Video streamed to a paired device using Tablo Connect is uploaded via your broadband internet connection, so video will use and be affected by the upload speed of your internet connection.

To enjoy Over-the-Air TV on-the-go, network-connected Tablo DVRs support the use of Tablo Connect on the following devices:

  • iOS smartphones and tablets
  • Android smartphones and tablets
  • PC/MAC
  • Amazon Fire TV
  • Nvidia Shield (Android TV)
  • Chromecast with Google TV (Android TV)
  • Apple TV

Tablo Connect is also supported when casting to Chromecast via paired Android mobile devices and PCs.

Roku does NOT currently support Tablo Connect.

TV-Connected Tablo DVRs do NOT support Tablo Connect.

The ‘best’ device for Tablo Connect depends on your needs, but keep these considerations in mind:

Portability - Mobile devices are great for small screen viewing. Watching on a TV at your vacation home? Consider a Fire TV stick or box.

Internet Upload Speed - When streaming video via Tablo Connect, you are limited by the upload speed of your external internet connection from your ISP. A minimum upload speed of 5 Mbps is required.

WiFi Connections - Some public WiFi networks can restrict the streaming of video or the use of internet ports required to access Tablo Connect.

Cellular Connections - There are generally no restrictions on cellular connections, but streaming video via Tablo Connect can use approximately 2-7 GB of data per half hour program, so an unlimited data package is recommended.
