Q&A > How Do I Get My Roku to Stop Talking to Me?

Roku Ultra

Send us your most pressing cord cutting questions via email so we can answer them in an upcoming issue.

This week's question comes from Michele who says, "My Roku has started talking in an annoying female voice every time I change something on the screen. It's driving me crazy. How can I turn this 'feature' off?"

The Roku feature Michele is talking about is called Audio Guide and is designed to help people with vision problems navigate the user interface.

But if you can see just fine, it can certainly be quite distracting. Thankfully it's super easy to disable it.

You can either hit the star button (*) on your Roku remote four times in a row or navigate to SETTINGS > ACCESSIBILITY > AUDIO GUIDE and choose the 'off' option from the menu.
