Q&A > Should I Reschedule Recordings Because of the Time Change?
This week's question is from Diana who says, "We're new to Tablo and I was wondering if we need to reschedule recordings or do anything else for the upcoming time change?"
There's absolutely no need to tweak anything on your Tablo before Daylight Saving Time as this is handled automatically by the DVR. And that's possible for two reasons.
First, Tablo gets its time zone information from your internet provider through something called Network Time Protocol (NTP). As long as that time is correct, your Live TV schedule and your recordings will be accurate, even manual recordings.
Secondly, when you have an active TV Guide Data Service subscription, recordings aren't actually scheduled by a specific date and time. Instead, they're scheduled by a unique series or episode ID so if the series or episode changes its scheduled airdate/airtime or its runtime (in the event of a double episode for example) your Tablo will be sure to record it.
