Happy Friday Cord Cutters!

First, some housekeeping...

We'll be taking a break from Cord Cutting This Week next Friday but we'll be back in your inboxes on July 8th. Have a safe and happy 4th of July and/or Canada Day!

Now on to our regularly scheduled program...

This week we have a Q&A on tricks to make navigating streaming apps faster, deals, short cuts, must-see TV, and more!

As always, if you know of someone who might need some insight or help with cutting the cord on cable or satellite, please forward our newsletter, or use the handy share buttons at the top of this email.

OK... now let's get to it!

Q&A > How Can I Make Navigating Streaming Menus Faster?
Roku remote tips

Send us your most pressing cord cutting questions via email so we can answer them in an upcoming issue.

This week's question comes from Sonia who says, "The one thing driving me bananas about cutting the cord is that it seems like there's a lot of button presses to start watching my shows on the Roku. Is there a way to fix this? Should I get a universal remote?"

Sonia's question is a fairly popular one, especially for new cord cutters who are familiar with massive cable remotes which have a specific button for just about everything.

Streaming device remotes are much more simple. With fewer buttons, many will do double duty depending on the context.

For example, many apps including Tablo, Netflix, and Disney+ will let you use the fast forward and rewind buttons to quickly zip through menus. You can also skip secondary menus and start playing your favorite show sooner by hitting the play button versus the enter or OK button.

Have a question about cord cutting that you'd like answered? Send us a note and you may see your question in an upcoming issue of Cord Cutting This Week!
