NEWS > Good Grief! Charlie Brown Belongs to Apple Now
Charlie Brown Lucy
This week Apple announced it has acquired the rights to classic Peanuts holiday specials including It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, and A Charlie Brown Christmas

This means the specials won't air on broadcast TV this year as they have for decades and fans are freaking out.

If you don't already have recordings of your favorite Charlie Brown specials saved on your Tablo DVR, don't worry.

You can still stream the specials for free via the Apple TV+ app during specified dates. You don't need a subscription to Apple TV+ or an Apple device to watch since the app is now available on several popular streaming devices including Roku and Amazon Fire TV.

Q&A > Do I Need to Buy a Streaming Subscription for Each Device?
Apple TV

Send us your most pressing cord cutting questions via email so we can answer them in an upcoming issue.

This week's question comes from Jerry who says, "I have a streaming news app subscription on my Roku. On one of my other TVs we use an Apple TV to stream. Do I have to buy an additional subscription?"

The answer is... maybe.

While many apps do set limits on the number of active screens you can stream to at the same time, you generally don't need a fresh subscription to watch on a different device in your home. All it takes is downloading the app and entering your your log-in credentials on your secondary streaming devices.

The only exception is if the subscription was created/billed directly on the streaming device itself.

Roku has
Roku Pay, and other platforms have similar infrastructure. When you sign up for a service via Roku Pay, you can ONLY stream content via Roku-brand devices.

This is one of the many reasons why you should always go to directly to the streaming service's website to sign up for and manage your streaming subscriptions. It may be less convenient than doing it on the device itself, but you'll have more control over where you can use that subscription and only one neck to wring if any billing issues arise.

CANADIAN CORNER > Starlink Clears First Hurdle to Operate in Canada
SpaceX Starlink

Satellite-based internet service Starlink operated by Elon Musk's SpaceX corporation has been granted a Basic International Telecommunications Services (BITS) license from the CRTC.

Don't get too excited though... Starlink still needs to meet several other regulatory hurdles to operate in Canada, including ownership restrictions.

The company also still needs to deploy more satellites to increase the coverage area, and build enough base stations to meet demand for a public beta, both of which it has had trouble doing
