OK... now let's get to it!
NEWS: What Antenna TV Viewers Need to Know About the FCC Spectrum Auction
As we reported in a previous issue, the FCC has completed an auction of Over-the-Air TV spectrum to free up space for new mobile technologies like 5G. The results of the repackaging of channels is now available and nearly 1,000 stations will be changing channel assignments.
TechHive has a great overview of exactly what it means for cordcutters who rely on OTA TV which includes a link to a list of changes for your local stations.
The good news is that no changes are slated to happen before the end of 2018, and in most cases you'll just need to run a channel scan on your Tablo or your TV to continue watching the free TV you love.
NEWS: Millennial-Focused Financial News Network Cheddar Going OTA
Cheddar, a financial and business news network which started as an online-only platform has begun broadcasting Over-the-Air in five markets. Dubbed 'CNBC for millennials', the network is counting on the growth of antenna TV viewership among its core demographic. In order to boost the launch, they're even partnering with Dunkin Donuts to distribute OTA antennas.

STREAMING: Netflix Ramps Up Original Content Creation
Next month, 35% of the new content coming to Netflix are originals produced by the streaming service. New seasons of House of Cards, Bloodline, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Sense8, Master of None and more will all premiere in May, signaling a planned shift away from content licensed from traditional networks and broadcasters.

CANADIAN CORNER: CRTC Affirms Net Neutrality
Yesterday the CRTC strengthened its stance on net neutrality, ruling that Videotron cannot enable customers to stream music from services such as Spotify and Google Play Music without it counting against a monthly data cap.
This is great news for Canadian consumers as the regulator has made it clear that wireless carriers and ISPs must treat all content equally and cannot show preferential treatment towards serving content that benefits them. Given the fact that the US regulator - the FCC - is moving away from specific net neutrality laws, it's good to see the principle being upheld on at least one side of the border.
What do you think of the CRTC's net neutrality/zero rating decision? Tell us on Twitter or Facebook.
