NEWS: Tablo Commercial Skip Feature Update
Q&A: How Do I Know Which Type of Amazon Fire TV I Have?
This week's question comes from Mike who asks, "I know I have a Fire TV stick, but how do I find out what version it is? It's not marked anywhere."
You're not alone, Mike! Even cord cutting experts would be hard pressed to tell the difference between some versions of the Amazon Fire TV at first glance, even if they're lined up side by side.
Amazon has a vaguely helpful listing on their website, but even it can be confusing.
That's why the team at AFTVnews.com created an app called Informer.
Once you download the app on your Fire TV, it will outline which model you own, it’s hardware and video specs, and known features or changes from firmware updates installed on the device.
It's an awesome resource for Fire TV owners, especially if you need to know if your device will support a particular app, or whether it's time to upgrade to a new model for a better cord cutting experience.
(P.S. For a fun 'surprise' in the Informer app, press the select button 6 times.)
Speaking of upgrading... Woot is doing a clearance sale on Fire TV 4K dongles for $34.99 US. While it might be tempting to jump on that deal, we'd recommend spending the extra $15 to get the advanced remote features and better performance of the newer Fire TV 4K stick.

CANADIAN CORNER: Streaming Pricing Changes at TSN & Sportsnet
For the last few years, Canadian sports fans have been able to access live streams of both major sports networks - Sportsnet (owned by Rogers) and TSN (owned by Bell).
However, consumers balked at the $25-$27 CAD pricing for each service which would have meant paying more than $50/month just to watch their favorite teams.
This week TSN announced a price cut to $20/month, and Sportsnet followed suit with a limited-time annual plan offer of $199.99 which amounts to $16.66/month.
Will these changes entice you to sign up, or do you feel it's still too expensive? Tell us on Twitter or Facebook.
