GEAR: All Roku Devices Now Under $100
As the holiday season approaches, Roku has dropped the prices on its entire lineup. Now even the high end Roku Ultra is priced under $100. It's unclear at the moment why Roku has made this wholesale pricing switch. There are rumors that their oldest model - the Roku streaming stick - will be getting an update, but no hints that they'll be updating the entire lineup. Perhaps the price reduction is part of a plan to boost sales as it works towards its IPO?
In other news, Roku also launched its own free ad-supported movie channel this week for users in the US. The Roku Channel is being rolled out to current-generation Roku units over the coming weeks so keep an eye out for it!
RUMOR: New Amazon Fire TV Devices Coming VERY Soon
Speaking of rumors, the ones focusing on new Amazon Fire TV devices are heating up. AFTVnews.com suspects not just one but TWO new models may be coming as early as next week, based on server logs seen by app developers as well as the fact that the current 'box' style device has disappeared from Amazon's website. Both new Amazon Fire TV models are said to support 4K streaming.
As soon as we hear anything official from Amazon, we'll be sure to let you know.
Have you been happy with your current generation Amazon Fire TV devices? What would you change about them if you could? Tell us on Twitter or Facebook.
NEWS: Three Reasons Cord Cutting is Going Mainstream
Statistics show that the cord cutting revolution is growing in numbers by leaps and bounds and its not surprising based on the market forces we see at play. New cable alternative services and gear are launching all of the time and meanwhile, cable companies are hiking rates for programming, increasing fees, and avoiding providing consumers with the flexibility they actually want.
This week on the Tablo blog, we took a look at three main reasons why cord cutting has transitioned beyond an option only for computer geeks, to a choice the average family can easily undertake.

CANADIAN CORNER: Classic Canadian Kids Game Show Making a Comeback
If you're of a certain age, you probably remember watching the classic Canadian kids game show Just Like Mom. Featuring a Q&A session and a (usually disgusting) 'bake-off', the show is getting a reboot starting in 2018 on YES TV. The new version will be called Just like Mom & Dad and is currently looking for Canadian families to appear on the show.
