OTA + OTT Streaming Makes Sense (and Cents!) for Cordcutters

Since the beginning of 2015, we’ve seen a wave of HBONOW game of thronesannouncements for new television streaming services and TV a-la-carte offerings. There’s been Sling TV, CBS All Access, HBO Now and Playstation Vue. NBC is also rumored to be planning a comedy-focused streaming service and others are saying Apple is planning a service including content from both broadcast and cable channels.

There’s never been more choice for consumers which is great news. However, some news reports have been focusing on how adding these services to get the equivalent of cable isn't really a good bargain...

CES 2015: Tablo METRO, Roku Interface and Much, Much More

CES LogoThe 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) starts tomorrow in Las Vegas. For those of you not 'in the know', CES is the largest tradeshow in the United States and is where all of the newest cool consumer-focused gadgets are unveiled. 

Last year at CES we introduced the Tablo 2-Tuner DVR and this year we want to make an equally big splash.

Now Available: Tablo Web Apps for Smartphones

Just over a year ago, we were ramping up to introduce Tablo to the world. We had a product name, a beta-ready product and a handful of assumptions about how people would use it. Back then, we guessed most users would watch Tablo content on tablets and on TVs via Roku or Apple TV... (And eventually this thing called Chromecast that was brand spankin' new...) We also made a web app to be used on computers.

But we never really thought people would regularly use their smartphone to watch TV programs from their Tablo and figured the web app would work quite well for most smartphone users.

Tablo Guide Data Subscription Store Now Open

Tablo Subscription StatesOur latest firmware release included several updates which enabled us to officially launch our guide data subscription service and store at Account.TabloTV.com.

Within your Tablo app, you'll now be able to view your subscription status as well as create manual recordings (date, time and channel) – useful for those who choose not to continue with a paid subscription once the 30 day trial period is over as well as for those who want to extend time on regular recordings.
