How I Cut the Cord with Tablo – By Russ, the Family Time Cord Cutter

Why did you cut the cord? How much money are you saving each month?
Russ Tablo cord cutterI'm the kind of guy who likes to have control over my lifestyle. I know that a good company needs a plan for recurring revenue, but I was just sick and tired of sacrificing my money to the visual entertainment overlords who had me shackled by a contract.

So I went on a ’techno-diet‘! By that I mean, I resisted the urge to get new gear from the satellite company just because I could at the cost of 2 more years’ worth of billable chains. After 6 long months, my contract finally expired and I kicked the DirecTV habit!

How I Cut the Cord with Tablo – By Ross, the Escaping from Pay TV Cord Cutter

Why did you cut the cord? How much money are you saving each month?
I’ve been a customer of all of the major cable/satellite providers. Over and over again I was duped by their introductory pricing only to see my bills skyrocket to close to $100 per month for pretty basic TV services. For 5 years prior to cutting the cord, I had annual negotiations with my satellite provider to try to get my monthly costs down again. It became a huge pain to make those calls and still end up with minimal savings. When a friend of mine talked about how his family had moved to an HDTV antenna and cut the cord, I immediately began to plan my escape from pay TV. After installing everything, I'm saving about $65 per month and I still get to watch everything I did before I switched. I should've done this years ago.

Andy FamilyWhy did you cut the cord? How much money are you saving each month?
The retention department dance with the cable company every 6-12 months was getting really old. Over the last three promotional periods, our rate for internet/cable had risen from $99 to $160/month. I did a little research and just about everything we watched was available Over-the-Air. After cutting the cord we pay just $34.98/month.
